Supply Sunday: Memphis Summer Greens

At some point recently I realized it was summer in Memphis and I had no greens in my sketch bag! So I went to the Art Center and bought some Dr. Ph Martin's Hydrus Fine Art Watercolor and filled up some Pentel Aquash water brush pens, then I went out to the Wolf River and made a quick little sketch.

Nice Day Outside

It was nice outside yesterday so I sat on the Starbucks patio and did some work and some sketching. That blob you see on the right of the sketch is one of the perils of sketching with non-waterproof ink while drinking an iced latte!

Memphis Monday - This Art Has Cooties

This Art Has Cooties

June 6-20, 2014

Opening Reception June 6, 6:00 to 9:00 PM (That's this Friday!)

Marshall Arts
639 Marshall Ave
Memphis, TN

"This Art Has Cooties" is a look at work by regional female artists whose work, due to its size, imagery, materials, or process, is considered "feminine." It's not that the work isn't good; it's just that you don't see as much of it as you probably should. Because it has cooties.

This exhibit showcases solid, interesting, intelligent, playful, and compelling artwork that is made by women, without concern for demographic appeal.

Then There's This... More from Phoenix

I did do these sketches! These are from notes I took at the conference I was attending in Phoenix. this first one is from the keynote speech - he had great visuals!

These are most of the presenters that I saw, and some other attendees.

These were all done with a Pilot Hi-Tec-C Coleto multi pen. It is my favorite thing ever! In a Poppin notebook.
